Scandinavian Style Inspired Small Living

Scandinavian Style Inspired Small Living

When I think of Scandinavian inspired style I immediately picture soft, muted mid-tone color palettes in blues and grays and creamy whites. I see crisp, modern lines softened and balanced by light woods and varied fabrics, textures, and greenery.

It’s simple, clean, and minimalist, and this style works wonderfully in small homes. (This post contains affiliate links.)

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with all things Scandinavian style for the past few days, ever since I saw this fabulous London flat in a house tour at Apartment Therapy, one of my very favorite websites. With only 870 square feet to work with, the couple featured in this article made the most of their small living space and created a Scandinavian style haven.

Scandinavian style small livingThey call it Nordic style in the article, but the term is basically interchangeable with Scandinavian style. The way I see it, both terms refer to the same natural, sort of serene and modern style sensibility of the entire Scandinavian/Nordic region collectively.

So call it whatever you’d like, but either way it’s just a beautiful style. And the flat featured in the article is a perfect example of modern and minimalist while also being interesting and inviting. That’s definitely a winning combination. Be sure to take a look at it. You’ll definitely be inspired.
